About Sam

About the Artist...
Sarah Starr Redwine, known by their friends as Sam, is currently studying to earn their BFA in Life Sciences Illustration at the Cleveland Institute of Art.

They are set to graduate in 2029, and hope to go into medical illustration. They hope to use their artwork to educate about medicine, anatomy, and possibly zoology.

Since Sam was little, they have enjoyed being creative. They’ve experimented with drawing, painting, fiber arts and more. Sam attended Appomattox Regional Governors School for the Arts and Technology, where they discovered their strength for observational drawing and painting, as well as their fascination for science, specifically biology, anatomy, and genetics. While attending ARGS, Sam was a member of the National Art Honors Society, and received numerous awards for their art, including 2 Scholastic Art and Writing Gold Keys and a 1st place in printmaking from the Virginia State Fair.

Though Sam is just at the beginning of their art career, they have high hopes for the future, and an eagerness to learn and expand their skills within and outside their current interests!
